Henry was the youngest son of Big John & Phebe Caroline (Taylor) Patton. Henry farmed the Patton homestead following his father's death in 1853. In 1860, he was living with his mother and niece, Nancy Stewart on the Patton homestead. In 1880, Henry was living with his sister, Lurissa (Patton) Caskey & her daughter Lurissa Jane Patton on the Caskey homestead where he is listed as a boarder and worker. Henry never married.
