1812: Samuel and Mary Ann Roberts Edwards move to Fayette County, Ohio.
7/28/1813: Samuel Edwards enlisted in the Ohio Militia and served in the War of 1812. He was a fifer in Cap. Andrew Hemphill’s Co., Colonel John McDonald Reg. He served until 8/9/1813.
6/5/1818: Samuel Edwards bought 100 acres of land for $100 from LeRoy Cole.
1820 Federal Census for Fayette Co., Ohio, Green Twp. lists Samuel Edwards as head of household. Enumerated as living in the same household as free white persons were: 4 males under 10 years of age, 1 male 10-16 years, 1 male 26-45 years, 2 females under 10, 1 female 10-16, and 1 female 26-45. Three persons are numbers as engaged in agriculture.

1/3/1840: Mary Ann Edwards is appointed executor for Samuel Edwards personal estate with William S. Cochrill and Vincent Lanum her securities.
10/7/1841: “The account and voucher of Mary Ann Edwards, Administrator of the estate of Samuel Edwards, late of the country dec’d were this day executed by the court, passed and ordered to be recorded.” “On motion Enoch Edwards, Nathaniel Edwards, and Silas Edwards, minors over the age of fourteen years this day with the consent of the Court made choice of Elisha Edwards their guardian and the said Elisha Edwards was the court appointed guardian for Eliza Edwards and Tabitha Edwards minors under the age of twelve years, thereupon the said Elisha Edwards with Isaiah Edwards, Elias Edwards, and Mary Ann Edwards his securities entered into and acknowledged his bond in the paucity of eight hundred dollars conditioned as the law directs.” The sale of good was recorded on Jan. 23, 1840.

This day Mary Ann Edwards, Administrator of the estate of Samuel Edwards dec’d presented her self and vouchers for settlement with the court from which it appears that there came into her hand the sum of $438.71 and that there was expended in the settlement of said estate the sum of $46.53 leaving to be distributed the sum of $362.18, all which is ordered to be recorded.
