Notes for Asa Edward Taylor
Asa Edward Taylor, 85, Highland, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 1992, at a St Joseph, Mo., hospital.

He was born April 19, 1907, near White Cloud, the son of Edward and Stella M. Parks Taylor. He attended school I White Cloud. He was a farmer near White Cloud many years and moved to Highland after he retired.

He was a member of the Community Christian Church in White Cloud and the Farm Bureau. He had been a 4-H club volunteer leader.

He was married to Nelle Hixson Feb. 17, 1929, in Troy. She died in November 1987

Survivors include a son, Marvin Taylor, White Cloud; a daughter, Virginia Taylor Snook, Cameron, MO; a sister, Eula Lee, Redding, CA; three grandchildren; Alisa Taylor, Lorie Taylor Conklin and Nanette Taylor Reid and 4 grandchildren; Keith Conklin, Megan Reid, Edward Taylor Koch and Jaclyn Reid. 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Highland Mortuary in Highland. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery in White Cloud. Mr. Taylor will lie in state after 1 p.m. today a the mortuary where friends and relatives will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Christian Church or Olive Branch Cemetery Fund, both in White Cloud.

Mrs. Nelle Hixson Taylor, 77, Highland, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1987 at a Sabetha hospital.

She was born March 25, 1910, at Oregon, Mo., the daughter of James Albert and Sadie Mauck Hixson. She spent most of her life in the White Cloud community.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of White Cloud Community Christian Church, Citizenship Club, and Farm Bureau Homemakers, all at White Cloud, and was a former leader of White Cloud 4-H Club. She also was a member of the Ladies Dinner Club in Highland.

She was married to Asa Taylor Feb. 17, 1929, at Troy. They farmed in the White Cloud area before they retired and moved to Highland a few years ago. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter. Mrs. Virginia Snook, Cameron, MO.; a son Marvin Taylor, White Cloud; Alisa Taylor, Lorie Taylor Conklin and Nanette Taylor Reid and a great-grandson, Keith Conklin.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Highland Mortuary in Highland. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery at White Cloud. Mrs. Taylor will lie in state after 8:30 a.m. today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Cemetery or White Cloud Community Christian Church, both at White Cloud.
