Notes for Franz Christian "Christian" Hootman
Zion Methodist. Christian was originally in the Revolutionary War as a Brit. but was captured by the Americans. He recovered and re-enlisted, not as a Brit. but as an American. Before leaving for the war he had an argument with his father, pledging never to return to the home land. And he did not. He received 600 acres in the headwaters of Buffalo Creek, West Virginia for services in the Revolutionary War, Virginia Regiment.
