Paul Henry Edwards, 95, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 28, in Wichita, Kansas. The son of Aubrey and Hattie Beeler Edwards, he was born on April 10, 1917, on a farm five miles south of Junction City, Kansas. He was graduated from Junction City High School in 1935, after which he worked for the Eisenhower Drug Store in Junction City, where he proudly told stories of meeting the future president. In 1937, he moved to Wichita, where he went to work for Beech Aircraft Corporation, working his way from an entry level job to Plant Manager at the time of his retirement in 1982.

In April, 1940, he married Jeanette Marilyn (Sonja) Noble; they were the parents of four sons, Gary, Bob, and twins Bill and Tom. He devotedly took care of Sonja until her death in 1985 of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). In January, 1999, he was happily married to Betty Bowman of Wichita until her death in 2003. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and was an avid hunter and golfer. He loved playing his harmonica.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Gary and Peggy Edwards of Houston, Texas; son, Bob Edwards of Poinciana, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. William and Paula Edwards of Rochester, Minnesota; and son and daughter-in law Tom and Linda Edwards of Killingworth, Connecticut; step-sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Peg Bowman and Mark and Kathy Bowman of Wichita, Kansas; grand-daughters Debbie Hance of Houston, Texas, Christy Hall of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Lindsay Davis of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; grandsons Anderson Edwards of Los Angeles, California, and Vincent Edwards of Bloomington, Indiana; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja, and his wife, Betty, and brothers Thornton Edwards of Manhattan and Dr. Karl Edwards of Lawrence.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, from 5-7:00 p.m. at Downing Lahey Funeral Home, 6555 E. Woodlawn, Wichita. Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 3750 E. Douglas, Wichita, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 2. In lieu of flowers, memorial funds may be sent to The Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases, The Methodist Hospital Foundation, P.O.
